About
The short version.
I'm David — a CTO based in Malta, 25 years in and still hooked. The curiosity that got me started hasn't faded one bit.
I actually learned to code before I owned my first computer. I was the kid scribbling programs on paper, impatient to try them out. That restless, self-taught energy stuck with me — I'm still most at home in a terminal, still happiest when I'm figuring something out from scratch.
What I do
I build products that scale and the teams that ship them. Over the years I've worked across iGaming, airlines, banking, telecoms, and government — each one a different puzzle, each one teaching me something new about what makes systems (and people) work well.
These days, what lights me up most is mentoring engineers and designing architectures that are genuinely elegant — not clever for cleverness' sake, but the kind of clean, well-considered systems that make everyone's life easier down the line.
How I think
I believe great technology should feel invisible. The best systems I've built are the ones nobody talks about — because they just work. I care about simplicity, about not over-engineering things, and about helping teams move fast while knowing which corners you can afford to cut.
Right now I'm deep into AI and agentic workflows — exploring how these tools can genuinely change the way we build software, not as a buzzword but as a real shift in the craft. I write about what I'm finding on the blog.
